Irfanullah Marwat

Irfanullah Marwat was born in 1950. His father was an army officer who retired as a Major General. During his father's duty in the Army, wherever he got transferred, he had to change schools as well. He started his schooling from Abbottabad then studied in Lahore and Kharian as well. From Rawalpindi he acquired his college education.

In 1969, he came to Karachi to do his MBA from IBA. That time East Pakistan was intact and the entry tests for IBA were conducted all over the country, be it Dhaka, Chitagong, Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi or Peshawar. After completing his MBA, he went to USA for his second Masters in financial management from Serecus University of New York.

He worked for a German Company for sometime and then moved to the Middle East for a company as Director Finance. Later he came back to Pakistan and engaged himself in Politics.

He has been elected four times from the Sindh Assembly and has held several portfolios as cabinet minister, including transport, population welfare, home, health, and eduction.
